Born and resides in the province of Neuquén.

At the age of 17, she received a Higher Professor of Music and at 23 years of age as an Electrotechnical Industrial Engineer, developing a vast task as an Official of the Province of Neuquén, International Consultant with the United Nations, Researcher at the National University of Comahue.

At the same time, she develops her artistic training activities, attends theater and ceramics workshops; he devoted himself intensely for 5 years to the study of painting. She participates in numerous group exhibitions in Buenos Aires, in one of which the artist Mireya Baglietto, who would later have a great influence on her artistic growth, discovers in her works a unique perspective, treatment of the human figure and space, encouraging her to commit more deeply with the subject and the technique, accompanying her from that moment on the path of art.

At present, Mirtha Otaño is exclusively devoted to her pictorial work, with many personalities of national art accompanying her path, Adriana Budich, Diana Ares, Rubén Borré, the Spanish painter Xavier Magalahes, with the latter two holding an important exhibition at Braque Galería of art in Buenos Aires.
